Transformation Tuesday Post

Transformation Tuesday. Outwardly I’ve changed a lot. Inside, I’m still the same person, just older, and hopefully wiser, and healthier. Now watch me get hit by a truck before my time ;-P

 

Plastics day 3: Feel like I was in a knife fight

Everything feels sore and “hurty”. The incisions burn and my sides seem bruised. The binder is cutting into me. I’m exhausted. Drains still in place although now, they’re producing a lot less liquid. My brain is fuzzy but I’m uncomfortable whether in a recliner or in a bed with a wedge behind me. My back hurts from having to bend over when I walk.

And I can’t WAIT to see what it looks like under the binder! Doc said he’d show me today.

So in other words, all is normal and well 🙂

Day two after plastic surgery

Really it’s not as painful as I thought it would be. I had a catheter in which was really uncomfortable but it came out today. I have two drains that need to be emptied. twice a day and I haven’t seen my new tummy yet.

But by and large it only hurts when I move. If I lie still, I can almost forget that I just had surgery.

Getting antsy so I actually made 3-4 work phone calls and wrote several emails–but all while lying down 🙂

Our dog and cat won’t to jump on me as usual and are confused as to why they can’t. Hoping tomorrow is even better than today.

It’s plastic surgery day!

Going in for a mini tummy tuck with skin removal only, no muscle repair. I’m excited and scared at the same time. It’s hard not to think of the possibility of complications or death, from what is essentially a vanity procedure. As a mother, you have to wonder if this isn’t an unnecessary, vain, selfish risk I’m taking.

But it’s too late for those thoughts. Three hours from now, I’ll be going under, and waking up with a flatter tummy I hope.

Pan grilled bratwurst and steamed cabbage

I covered the bratwurst with water and simmered for 10 minutes. Then I drained the water and added a little olive oil, and sautéed the sausages until they were brown but not bursting. I poured the fat into a disposable hot drinks cup.

Sliced up the cabbage, and poured a little of the sausage fat into it, dusted with salt and pepper and a few tablespoons of water, covered with Saran wrap and microwaved for four minutes. Dinner!

Taco bake and green beans with bacon

Taco meat topped with retried beans and covered in cheese, baked at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, with a side of guacamole. Green beans, bacon, and chopped onions with fresh pepper, in a pressure cooker for 5 mins. Dinner!

Um. For two sleevers maybe. I couldn’t finish it. But very yummy!

Roasted veggies and Italian sausage

Ended up roasting some delicata squash, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potatoes and serving them with Italian sausage cut into bites, and dusted with Cajun seasoning. Yum!

Cheese plate and mixed meat platter with bacon-wrapped chicken, bacon-wrapped filet, picanya, four kinds of cheese including a yummy cream Havarti. Soooo good!
